Day-trip questions
How same-day private flights work: waiting time, late meetings, crew limits, costs and what to bring. Ask anything else in the notes of your request.
Can the jet really wait for me all day?
Yes. On a same-day round trip the aircraft and crew usually stay at the destination until you are ready to leave. The real limit is the crew's duty day, which your advisor plans around before you book.
Do I pay for the hours the aircraft waits?
Usually not by the hour. You pay for the flying time both ways, often with a daily minimum of one to two billed hours, plus parking and handling at the destination. The day-trip planner shows an estimate.
What if my meeting runs late?
Let your advisor know as early as you can. Inside the crew's duty limits the departure can usually move; beyond them the options are a second crew or an overnight, and we explain the cost of each before anything changes.
How far can I go and still be home the same day?
The most comfortable day trips are under about two and a half hours each way. Longer flights are possible, but they leave less time on the ground before the crew's duty day runs out.
Is there a membership or deposit to get a quote?
No. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing; payment comes only after you choose an aircraft and sign the charter agreement.
Can I bring my dog along for the day?
Plenty of operators welcome dogs in the cabin once they have approved it. Mention the size and breed in your request and we will only quote aircraft that can take them.
Who operates the flights?
A certificated air carrier: an FAA Part 135 operator, or a foreign equivalent abroad, with operational control of the aircraft. We arrange the trip as your broker and name the operator before you book.
Can I change the return time on the day?
Often, yes. Message your advisor as soon as you know. The new time has to fit inside the crew's duty day and any airport hours, and we confirm it with the operator before you head to the terminal.
Can we add a stop on the way home?
Yes. Choose Multi-city when you request, or add the stop in the notes. An extra leg adds flying time and can lengthen the crew's day, so we price it and check the timing together.
What happens if weather closes the destination?
The crew decides whether it is safe to go. If the destination is closed, the usual options are waiting for an improvement, a nearby alternate airport or a different day. Your charter agreement explains how changes and cancellations are handled.
Can I book a one-way flight instead?
Of course. Choose One way in the form. One-way prices often include the aircraft's empty flight back to base, which your quote will show.
What should I bring?
Photo ID for domestic trips and a passport for international ones. Pack light if you are in a smaller aircraft, and tell us about anything bulky in advance.
